If the first part is a bit reminiscent of crazy Soviet documentary propaganda, the second part takes us to an alternative reality, populated by revived phantoms of the magazine "Krokodil": freeloaders, alcoholics, abstract artists and other nonconformists. The main character, Barkhatov, is a superman on a mission to fight the enemies of the working class.
